Top 10 of 2012: Best Book Boyfriends of 2012

Pronti, attenti… via! Ormoni pazzi in arrivo!

1. Daemon Black (The Lux series di Jennifer L. Armentrout) in Onyx.

Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys.".

2. Jace Wayland (The Mortal Instruments series di Cassandra Clare) in City of Lost souls
Povero, povero Jace, coraggioso fino all'inverosimile.
“Missing, one stunningly attractive teenage boy. Answers to 'Jace' or 'Hot Stuff”

 3. Tod Hudson (Soul Screamers series di Rachel Vincent) in Before I wake

“But I'll be fine. I'll be with Tod. He's a good guy, you know." He just hides it under all the sarcasm and curls.”

4. Beck Denver (The Demon's Trapper Daughter series di Jana Oliver) in Foretold

“I can't face losin' ya, Riley. Yer all I got left in this world.”

5. Jared Lynburn (The Lynburn Legacy series di Sarah Rees Brennan) in Unspoken

“Nah”, said Jared. “You’re thinking of black leather. Black leather’s for bad boys. It’s all in the color. You wouldn’t think I was a bad boy if I was wearing a pink leather jacket.”

6. Aiden St. Delphi (The Covenant series di Jennifer L. Armentrout) in Pure e Deity

Come dire, irresistibile. Io mi metto in fila.
“Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve wanted to break every rule.” Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. “You’ll become the centre of someone’s world one day. And he’ll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.”

7. Noah Hutchins (Pushing the Limits series di Katie McGarry) in Pushing the Limits

"Luke used to give me butterflies. Noah spawned mutant pterodactyls."

“Come on, Gypsy girl. I'm bleeding to death here, in case you haven't noticed. At least make it worth my while and kiss me before I die.”

9. Peregrine (Under the Never Sky series di Veronica Rossi) in Under the Never Sky

Selvaggiamente affascinante
“Oh, this was champ. She’d found herself a Savage prince. Don’t laugh, she told herself. Don’t laugh, Aria.”

10. Cassio (Anna series di Kendare Blake) in Girl of Nightmare.

“Instead I kiss her, one time, and try to tell her in that single gesture everything that she'll forget as soon as she turns away. I tell her I love her. I tell her I'll miss her. And then I let her go

Today's post is surely one of the most… interesting ones I am writing. Why? But clearly because we are going to talk about complex and philosophical issues such as…*cough, cough* I got you worried, right? No. no philosophy involved, although I'm pretty sure 'book boys' could totally fit into their own philosophical category (filed under: how to make a girl feel better). So, yes, we're talking about all those great guys who make us daydream… Unfortunately, I haven't met any guys quite like a book boyfriend, but I hope you girls were luckier than me! I think I could do with any of the guys I'm going to list, because, you know, I'm not asking for much!

Unfortunately, not every book boyfriend I love will make it to this Top 10, because I am allowed to put only those guys who showed up in books published and read in 2012. Sigh, my beloved Will Herondale will have to be left out, since Clockwork Prince came out last year (actually, I could cheat. The Italian version came out this summer… but I read it in English).

And now, ready, steady, go! Crazy hormones take over the blog!

1. Daemon Black (The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout) in Onyx.

While my fellow Italian book bloggers are still waiting for the Daemon Invasion, I fell for this hot alien. I mean,  "Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys." I totally love his terrible attitude and layered personality and I learnt to understand his constant worries about his family and Kathy. Seriously, how can you NOT love him?

2. Jace Wayland (The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare) in City of Lost souls

I had to leave out Will, but Jace fitted right in. Sexy, tormented, possessed and funny, Jace is still on top of my list. How many things does he have to go through? I just want him happy and safe. Are you really sure a guy like him does not exist?
“Missing, one stunningly attractive teenage boy. Answers to 'Jace' or 'Hot Stuff”

3. Tod Hudson (Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent) in Before I  wake

When I die, please send this sarcastic and hot reaper to claim my soul, so my eyes can see something really beautiful one last time. What can I say? At first I really wasn't into him, but I soon went crazy for his humor and his sexual innuendos. And he's so sweet, too!
“But I'll be fine. I'll be with Tod. He's a good guy, you know." He just hides it under all the sarcasm and curls.”

4. Beck Denver (The Demon's Trapper Daughter series by Jana Oliverin Foretold
That brutal honesty again. He'd peeled away more armor, and this time he'd exposed his heart.”
I think Beck is the 'rudest' among my book boys and the older, too. He seduced me with his thick accent, his attitude and, well, he 's quite the player, you know. But he's loyal and ready to make sacrifices. I'm going to miss him a lot, now that the series has ended.
“I can't face losin' ya, Riley. Yer all I got left in this world.”

5. Jared Lynburn (The Lynburn Legacy series by Sarah Rees Brennan) in Unspoken
I honestly cannot explain why Jared took a place in my heart and refuses to leave it. He's intriguing, tormented, interesting and I just couldn't resist. But I think I could have killed him in more than one occasion.
“Nah”, said Jared. “You’re thinking of black leather. Black leather’s for bad boys. It’s all in the color. You wouldn’t think I was a bad boy if I was wearing a pink leather jacket.”

6. Aiden St. Delphi (The Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout) in Pure and Deity
Who wouldn't want this guy? Strong, reliable, a born warrior ready to save the world and those he loves. And he really cares about people. And I'd love to have him train me to fight. I would probably be distracted the whole time.
“Ever since I’ve met you, I’ve wanted to break every rule.” Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. “You’ll become the centre of someone’s world one day. And he’ll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.”

7. Noah Hutchins (Pushing the Limits series by Katie McGarry) in Pushing the Limits
Let's be honest, girls, we do like bad boys and Noah is just one of the best available, starting from his clothes, his tattoos and his cursing. But he can see beyond the mere appearances and he can be  by your side even in the most difficult situations. Are you really trying to tell me you will give him up? Cause I won't.
"Luke used to give me butterflies. Noah spawned mutant pterodactyls."

8. Logan 'freaking' Quinn (Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep) in Dark Frost
I discovered this series this summer and devoured it, also thanks to that proud, quite irritating, very fierce Spartan boy. Oh, and protective, too. Yeah, in case of trouble, I want him by my side. And he's quite the eye-candy!
“Come on, Gypsy girl. I'm bleeding to death here, in case you haven't noticed. At least make it worth my while and kiss me before I die.”

9. Peregrine (Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi) in Under the Never Sky
You always need a guy who can survive in a cruel and weird world, don't you? And Perry would be my choice, because he can take care of himself, he's strong, he can fight but he has not forgotten how to love. And he's wildly fascinating.
“Oh, this was champ. She’d found herself a Savage prince. Don’t laugh, she told herself. Don’t laugh, Aria.”

10. Cassio (Anna series by Kendare Blake) in Girl of Nightmare.
He's a ghost hunter. He can kick ass. He's hot. He falls in love with a ghost. He screws up, he finds it hard to trust. He's downright adorable and he can take the right decisions. No need to add more.
Instead I kiss her, one time, and try to tell her in that single gesture everything that she'll forget as soon as she turns away. I tell her I love her. I tell her I'll miss her. And then I let her go”

And now girl, speak up. Confession time! Tell me about your book boys. And if we have someone in common, we'll have to share and take turns!
