Feature & Follow #10

Confessate!

Last week I had so much fun discovering new blogs through this Follow Hop, hosted by the fabulous Parajunkee and Alison Can Read (I strongly suggest you visit their wonderful blogs) that I am going to do it again because it's a great way to meet new bloggers and make awesome bookish friendships!

This week question is... what is a book you didn't like that all your friends raved about or what book did you love that wasn't popular?

Easy answer for the books I didn't like and my fellow book bloggers or friends loved... Get ready cause I feel that some of you won't talk to me after I've said it, but I really couldn't stand... the Fallen saga by Lauren Kate *shocked face around*. No offence, but I really, really didn't like it. I wanted to kill the characters half of the time (and the other half I thought they were just plain stupid), I just couldn't understand how they were appealing (Luce??? Please, that girl forgets her brain at home every single time. She's totally irrational!), the story fell flat for me (and what was the use of Passion? Uh?), the only remotely interesting character doesn't apperar much and the writing isn't just for me. Sorry, but no. Everybody loved it. Just not me.

Same goes for Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini (still need to read the second book), and Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon. I'm not a big fan of Paranormalcy by Kristen White, either. I know that all these books are loved, but they didn't work for me. Sigh.

As for books that I literally adored and that weren't as popolar as I hoped, I'm going to name just a couple of series which are going to be featured on the blog soon: The demon's trapper daughter by Jana Oliver and The demon's lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan. They really deserved more!

Tell me about yours!

  1. Hopping through. I admire you for posting in both Italian and English. I wish I knew two languages. I wasn't a big fan of Fallen either, but I did love Starcrossed. New follower!

  2. Fallen isn't my thing either. I got stuck in Passion and I decided to quit trying. Carrier of the mark wasn't so good, so another series I'm not going to continue. I do like the Paranormalcy books though.

  3. I haven't read Fallen yet, but I've seen some mixed reviews about it. I haven't read the other books you mentioned. I'll have to check some of them out.

  4. I only made it through the first book and about 3 chapters in the second of Fallen. I have a love/hate relationship with "Angel" books. With Fallen it was definitely on the hate side!

  6. I read the first Fallen book a while ago, I liked it at the time but I'm not sure I'd like it now.
